I Am South Dakota is a book of photography and written essays that chronicles the lives of 10 people living in South Dakota. Brusseau started the project by photographing people of all different walks of life throughout the Black Hills. The initial experiment blossomed into the engaging stories of 10 people living throughout the state of South Dakota. The resulting book, entitled I Am South Dakota, is a compilation of these people and their lives over the course of several years.
